Hi there,
In this guide you will learn how to set up an automated task for your VPS to reboot every weekend.
The reason to do this is to keep your system clean and stable, as it is not great for a Windows system to run 24/7 non-stop.
In addition Windows Updates might need a reboot every once in a while.
Steps:
1 – Log into your VPS.
2 – Click on Start and type “Task Scheduler”.
3 – Open the Task Scheduler application.
4 – Click on “Create Task”.
5 – Name your task something you can remember “Weekend Reboot” for example.
6 – Go to the “Triggers” tab and click on “New”.
7 – Select “Weekly” to the left and then tick Saturday. Click on “ok”.
8 – Go to the “Actions” tab and click on “New”.
9 – Under the Program/Script field input shutdown/r and click “ok”.
10 – Click “ok”.
That’s it! Your VPS will automatically reboot every weekend.
